Welcome to How-to-Cruise, the best destination for all things cruising! The goal of this new site is to give you a one-stop-shop approach to receive all your cruise news, rumors, company & industry updates, and more. Each week I will post a new article focusing on something different about the industry from specific ship news, brand announcements, unique experiences onboard, cruise destinations, and more; ensuring fun and easy reading for those interested in cruise ships as much as I am.
Why am I the right guy to run a Cruise News site?
Ever since I was young, I have always been interested in transportation and the experiences they can provide. My family did a reunion cruise aboard Disney Magic when I was 8 years old, starting my life long love of being at sea. Since then, I have sailed countless times as a paying passenger, but more impressively is my number of nights on ships for work.
Junior year of college at Virginia Tech, I landed a summer internship with American Cruise Lines that provided me with 3 months of non-stop work as we sailed the inner passage of Alaska. Instantly I knew this industry was for me as I had a hand in delivering high caliber personalized experiences to our guests.
Upon graduating from college, I moved to Florida and spent the next 4 years managing the development, testing, and roll-out of new onboard technology for a major cruise brand. I had the most incredible opportunity to travel the world, make friends from all over, experience new cultures and cuisine, all the while getting paid to overhaul and redesign what it meant to leverage technology during your vacation. Eventually, I outgrew the role and wanted to start a family with my wife. 3 years into working a stable land-based job and the sea is calling my name, so there’s no better time than now to give this a shot. I hope you enjoy!
About Me:
Currently working a boring land based job, I find myself spending my free time enjoying the cruising industry as a whole. From social media posts, news articles, cruise critic blogs, and guest reviews; there isn’t much about cruising that I don’t know.
