Icon of the Seas made her debut in Port Miami this past Saturday, January 27th; welcoming its first group of paying customers. For the ships first sailing, guests are enjoying a 7 night “Eastern Caribbean Perfect Day” cruise with stops in St. Kitts, St. Thomas, and Royal Caribbean’s private island, Coco Cay.

Since this is Icons’ first week, the line capped occupancy of guests at 80% in order to help the crew finish its final shakedown. Traditionally, the first few weeks for any new ship are a challenge as it becomes a literal stress test of all the onboard experiences. Regardless of the issues they may face, cruise fans flock to new ships to hold the honor of being one of the first to sail onboard. They get the first chance at seeing all the new and exciting ‘never-before-seen’ offerings Royal Caribbean has built for Icon.
